Clergy Day 2017-2018 : An APPy Day

The 4th of January, 2018 was a celebration of the brotherhood of the Presbyterium in the Archdiocese of Bombay. This was the Clergy Day 2017-2018, with a very creative theme, 'The APPy Day', pertaining to mobile applications. The key objectives were to facilitate bonding among Priest brothers, interaction with seminarians, discussions on various topics of concerns within the Church in Bombay and most importantly to enjoy each others company. All these objectives were met to the satisfaction of each and every Bishop, Priest and Deacon in attendance.

This wholesome gathering of the Diocesan Clergy began with Prayer in the beautiful main Chapel of St. Pius X Seminary. After the prayers, the priests and deacons had group discussions and sharing of their thoughts on concerns, initiatives and projects within the Diocese of Bombay. Cardinal Oswald Gracias then addressed the gathering and responded to some of the points put forward by various groups.

After all the serious discussions, there was time for fun and games. There were exciting and fun-filled games all based on theme of the day, which was mobile applications. There was also melodious singing by the Priests Band and the Ambassadors of Christ, the Seminarians band, which entertained the crowd thoroughly.

One of the highlights of the day was the felicitation of the Golden Jubilarians who were honoured by His Eminence, the Clergy and the Seminarians. On behalf of the Golden Jubilarians, Bishop Bosco Penha thanked each and everyone for the wonderful program. The day was a great success due to the tireless work of the CDPAB, the Rector and Staff of St. Pius X College and the Seminarians. It was indeed a (H)APPy Day.
