Solemnity of St Francis Xavier, 3rd December, 2022

As the tradition goes like every year on 3rd December, the community of St Pius Seminary celebrated the Solemnity of St Francis Xavier. The Day began with a solemn Eucharistic celebration at 7 am with Fr Constancio Noronha, Parish Priest of St Joseph Church, Vikhroli, being the main celebrant. The theme for the Eucharist was the konkani term, Urbevont, meaning to be filled with passion and zeal for God’s work. Father highlighted a few points on the life of St Francis Xavier, of him being filled with fire and passion for the Lord and the manner in which he carried out his task of establishing the Kingdom of God here in Asia. This is a calling for all of us to carry forward the work of Christ in spreading the good news and winning souls for Christ. Br Cris gave the vote of thanks at the end of the Eucharist, thanking Father for being available to the seminary on this occasion. In the afternoon, the Konkani-speaking brothers along with some others sang the cultural Mando during lunch in the refectory.

We thank everyone who helped in making this event a meaningful one.
