In the highly urbanized metropolis of Mumbai, St. Pius X College stands as an envied site for many on account of nearly 30 acres of lush greenery and the tranquil atmosphere which pervades its campus. Indeed, God has been very gracious in providing us with a serene atmosphere conducive to study and prayer. It is only fitting that we repay our Lord and Master by taking care of this property, more so in an age when environmental concerns are at their peak. The Holy Father himself, in his encyclical Laudato Si, calls upon each one of us to take care of our common home, Mother Earth. In response to this, we have decided to take extra care of our property and utilize it to the fullest. According

Retreat Experience of 2nd Year Theologians

Every year during the months of April and May, the Second Year Theologians do a one month long Ignatius retreat. This is to enable them to ponder deeper on the mission of Christ and to grow towards full dependency on him. Since they are only a year away from the Diaconate at that stage of their lives, this forms a perfect time to strengthen one’s call to the Priesthood. This year six brothers along with a Candidate for the Permanent Diaconate (CPD) attended the retreat at the Jesuit House at Baga Beach. The retreat preacher was Fr. Lawry Trinidade S.J. Below are the experiences of the brothers who attended the retreat: Joseph David [Archdiocese of Bombay] It is very difficult to talk about w

Mass of the Holy Spirit & Lectio Brevis

“Peace be with you!” We, the community at St Pius, greet you with these words of our Savior to Thomas, on this blissful day as the Church in India celebrated the Feast of St Thomas, Apostle and Patron of India. On this day at St Pius X College, we formally began the academic year, with the celebration of the Mass of the Holy Spirit. Our community was blessed with the presence of his Eminence Cardinal Oswald Gracias who was the main celebrant at the mass. At the Holy Eucharist, we were invited to entrust ourselves into the hands of our Lord and pray to the Holy Spirit to guide and help us, so that God’s will may be manifested in us and His name be glorified in all that we do. Like St Thomas,
