Inauguration of the Crib, 20th December, 2022

The Christmas crib inauguration, a much awaited event before the Christmas vacations begins was held on 21.12.2022. The students of the Propaedeutic year conducted a meaningful prayer service at 7.30 pm in the porch area alongside the crib prepared by them. Those present were Bishop Percy and Fr. Aniceto Pereira, Rector of the seminary along with all other fathers and seminarians. The service began in complete darkness until the Christ child was placed in the manger by Bishop Percy. At that moment the crib lights were turned on, indicating that Christ our true light has appeared and the beautiful crib was inaugurated for all to see. Bishop Percy, through his enlightening short talk, encouraged all the seminarians and priests to be "another Christ" in the world and bring everyone closer to the Lord through their pastoral ministry. Further, the leaders of the crib and star making team came forward and explained their respective works. The theme chosen was " The nature of our future depends on the future of our nature " - highlighting the global climate change crisis and it's hazardous effects on man and nature. The media team then had a short prize distribution ceremony for the group building day event. The prizes were distributed by Fr. Aniceto along with a short talk at the end. The service concluded with a vote of thanks to all those present and ended with singing of Christmas carols bringing in the joy of Christmas.
