Christian Unity Octave Prayer Service (22nd January)
On the occasion of the Christian Unity Octave, the Seminary organized an Ecumenical Prayer Service, which was thoughtfully coordinated by our Rector, Fr. Gilbert de Lima, with assistance of several seminarians. The central theme of the service was the celebration of 1,700 years since the Council of Nicaea, with particular focus on the Nicene Creed. Reflecting this, the scripture readings for this year focused on belief.
To help us delve deeper into this theme, we invited Pastor Abhijeet Sasane, who was joined by our in-house professor, Fr. Anthony Fernandes. The prayer service was meaningful and inspiring.
Pastor Abhijeet delivered a profound reflection during the service, centred around the theme “Do you believe?” (Jn 11:26). He emphasized the importance of Ecumenical efforts in fostering unity among all Christiana of various denominations, even amidst our differences. Throughout his reflection, he repeatedly challenged us with the question, “Do you believe this?” (Jn 11:26).
