Inaugural Bombay Brothers Association Meeting

The Archdiocese of Bombay is home to many seminarians studying for various dioceses across the nation. In order to ensure that, apart from the community as a whole, the seminarians for the Archdiocese of Bombay foster bonds with each other a "Bombay Brothers' Association" has been in existence. During each academic year this association meets several times comprising various sessions, group activities and a much awaited yearly excursion.

The purpose of this group is to ensure that the seminarians belonging to the Archdiocese of Bombay get to know each other better right from the seminary days itself. The bonds formed at this stage will only strengthen as they work together in the diocese after their ordination.

An association like this also helps to remind the Bombay Seminarians that the St. Pius X Seminary is part of their own heritage. Hence there is a need to be personally responsible and to proactively take charge of the little as well as great things that require attention in the house.

This seminary is their home for eight years and so each Bombay seminarian must imbibe a spirit of hospitality towards all those who come here as visitors and guests. They must allow the Gospel value of equality to seep deep into their hearts, shunning away every kind of division and groupism so extensively prevalent in society today.

The Association, through a simple majority, elected this year's President as Br. Ashwin Castellino and its Secretary as Bro. Santan Fernandes. I wish them all the very best for the year ahead.

Fr Aniceto Pereira

Rector
