On July 8, 2024, a Spiritual Conference was organized for our Seminarians by our Spiritual Program's Team, entitled “Transformation through Ascetical Practices”. Mr. Victor Pereira, a leader of a charismatic movement for the last 38 years from St. John the Baptist Church, Thane, was the speaker. He started his session with the bifurcation of the percentage of happiness in one’s life. He spoke about the “triple concupiscence” mentioned in the Bible and illustrated it with four examples, explaining how Jesus tackled this concupiscence test lust of the flesh which includes food, lust of the eyes that has desires of the world and pride of life, in which power and position come to the fore. He pointed out how the Church guides us to overcome these snares. He maintained especially in religious life, the Church basing itself on the values of the Gospel, fights all types of concupiscence through the three evangelical vows of Poverty, Chastity and Obedience.
After the talk, Fr. Lisbert led a sharing session using the “Spiritual Conversation Method,” dividing the participants into groups of six to discuss their key takeaways and challenge the seminarians face the challenges with courage and grace. The session concluded with a small Q&A session with the speaker, a vote of thanks, and a hymn.
