Feast of St Pius X and Ordinati Day 2024 (21st August)
“How very good and pleasant it is when kindred live together in unity!” (Ps. 133:1)
On the 21st of August, the Seminary community joyfully celebrated the feast of our Patron- St. Pius X along with the Ordinati Day. On the previous evening, Vespers were solemnly prayed with Dn. Kenneth leading the congregation, along with Dn. Rony and Bro. Rejith. The Feast Day itself was marked with the arrival of the alumni from their respective parishes and dioceses. The main celebrant for the Holy Mass was Fr. Anthony Rodrigues along with Bp. Dominic Savio, the Seminary Staff and the Ordinati as con-celebrants.
Following the Liturgical celebrations, a festive lunch and a variety entertainment programmes was organised in the refectory. The refectory itself and the corridors were well decorated by the Propaedeutics. The community was led into a beautiful prayer song. Following this, an attractive programme was put up by the current 4th Year Theologians as they walked down memory lane with their fellow brothers who have now returned as priests. The Ordinati were presented with a souvenir, and a cake was cut in celebration. Our Rector, Fr. Gilbert de Lima addressed the gathering encouraging the Ordinati to be the best version of themselves and to rest assured of our prayerful support. Bp. Dominic Savio Fernandes thanked the Seminary Staff for all having blest the seminary through their efforts. He encouraged the Ordinati to reach greater heights of endeavour. Fr. Jins shared his experience from his seminary days and Fr. Conrad proposed the Vote of Thanks on behalf of the Ordinati. A video was presented reminiscing the days our Ordinati had spent in the seminary. The 2nd Year Philosophers also kept everyone entertained with a variety of songs. The day ended with a sense of camaraderie and a renewed sense of brotherhood among all.
