Chrism Mass (Mass of the Oils) – 30th March, 2023

The Chrism Mass was celebrated at 6.30 pm in the Cathedral of the Holy Name, Colaba with His Eminence, Oswald Cardinal Gracias being the main celebrant for the Eucharist along with other Auxiliary Bishops and priest belonging to the Archdiocese of Bombay. The Newly ordained priests brought the oils in procession. The Cardinal consecrated the Sacred Oils used in the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, Anointing of the Sick and Holy Orders. The Choir for mass was led by the Seminarians from St Pius X Seminary, Goregaon. During the homily, Cardinal spoke of the good number of priest and religious along with the highest number of permanent deacons which our diocese is blessed with. Cardinal highlighted the significance of implementing the spirit of synodality in our diocese and spoke on the upcoming events in the diocese pertaining to synodality. At the end of the Eucharist, Cardinal thanked everyone who helped in making this event a meaningful one. The Fathers and brothers then moved to the school ground for dinner.
